Dick and Jane were here again.

They were the last group of the year.  The fishing was slow, the weather was tolerable, but we were glad to see them.  Dick managed to get a five pounder and Jane on the last day managed a beautiful seven pounder.  I don’t know what else to say about these people.  We were glad to see you come back this fall.  We hope to see you again in the spring.  Anyone who has followed my website or blog knows the history of Dick and Jane.  The love of fishing is very strong to certain people, but the love of family is stronger.  The love of God is the strongest of all.  When people care about others, who aren’t their own flesh and blood that is love.  Dick and Jane, my family loves you and we are thankful for the time we had to spend with you.  And we look forward to spend more time with you.  May God bless you and for He can do anything.  We think about you year round and we hope to see you next year.

Mission Accomplished!

Don came for a three day trip and brought his seven year old son George.  Their goal was to get a trophy Brook Trout.  Don managed to get a 23.5 inch Brook Trout, good for over 5 pounds on the second day.  Bad weather left them not fishing the third day.  But Don had caught the biggest Brook Trout of his life.  As a father, by taking his seven year old son to the Nipigon system, he has spoiled his son as most young children don't get to experience the bald eagles, big fish, fresh water and scenery that George got to see as a seven year old child.  Way to go Don for getting your big Brook Trout and kudos for taking your young son along for the ride.  He may not know it now, but as time goes by, George will appreciate where his dad took him fishing.

Wow! Every Third Fish was an Over!

Rick and Lucy came. They caught 37 brook trout over three days, with an amazing 11 fish over 22 inches.  The biggest being 25 inches with a 14 inch girth.  Rick had 2 over 6 pounds and Lucy had a 7 pounder.  They were a delight to guide as usual.  My whole family met with them on their last day here as we do this with Rick’s mom and dad.  It is amazing how different generations come into contact with each other.  Rick is a fishing fanatic and his father was a part of that.  If it wasn’t for my father who taught me how to fish and loved brook trout, I wouldn’t be a guide today.  There is nothing more fulfilling when a man takes his wife fishing.  Anybody can go fishing with his buddies, but when a man takes his wife on a fishing trip and catches trophy fish, that says a lot for the man.  More husbands should include their wives in their passions for fishing.  If the wife doesn’t want to go, so be it.  But when the husband offers to take his wife, he is sharing his life with her.  Lucy is like Jane and enjoys the great outdoors.   And I am sure that her best memories of fishing are with her husband.  May God bless the Bjorem family.  After meeting Rick and Lucy in person, my four kids said, “Dad we can see Dick and Jane in Rick.”

Dick and Jane were here again.

They each got a brook trout over 5 lbs.  Dick had a 6 and 7 pounder.  Jane had one just under 6 pounds.  They caught 25 fish over three days.  Dick got the most and the biggest brook trout, but Jane still managed to get a dandy 12 lb laker.  Not bad for people who just turned 80 years old.  I was glad to see them this spring as it wasn't about the fishing as much as it was to just actually see them. We had nice weather and Dick requested bacon, eggs and home fries for shore lunch.  And I have to admit, it was one of the better shorelunches I have ever had.  These two people have been blessed with a reputation for people who love fishing and the outdoors and each other.  As long as you two continue to come fishing, I will continue guiding.  My family looks forward to your visits.  I have said in the past about Dick and Jane being apart of our family.  My wife and children enjoy visiting with them when I guide them when they come.  As I am typing this for Barry, thank you for the Nutter Butters. We all hope to see you in September.  May the Lord bless you this summer
